With all of the sire drama involving the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair everyone has lost sight of what was really important here. Dan Spoerlein won the Grand Champion Steer title yesterday which is a big accomplishment. Here is some brief background on Dan and why this drama needs to end and let him enjoy his well deserved win. This was in fact only his second year showing in the beef project and he comes from a dairy background...not an easy change of pace. He has spent countless hours working on this project and it finally paid off for him. At the end of the day these cattle are all just cattle and Dan deserves the opportunity to celebrate something he may never achieve again. All of the he said she said stuff needs to pass...the kids are what is important in this case and nobody deserves the spotlight except for Dan!!
